Leadership Development Description:
-The Leadership Program that our Chamber of Commerce leads has helped individuals become more educated and aware of how our city functions. It has allowed them to get to know city leaders and become more engaged in moving things forward. The participants have learned to work together to promote a happier and healthier place to live and work.
-Recently, Oneonta City Schools have started a student ambassador program that consists of 14 juniors and seniors. Students apply and go through an interview process with local business executives as part of the selection process. These students serve various roles for our school. They help with open house, registration, parent night, and Veteran’s Day greeters as well as greeters to any other activity requested. Last year they had the opportunity to travel to Montgomery to meet and visit with lawmakers.
