Lake LU is a 54-acre lake on the University campus which provides facilities for fishing, boating, and picnicking; there are covered areas for grilling, picnicking, and several benches and picnic tables around the property. Surrounding the lake are the Nature trails which is made up of the Lake Trail, Prairie Trail, and Forest Trail. The trails are used for hiking, running, bird watching, picnicking, and wildflower studying. Fishing and boating on Lake LU are open three days a week to the public.
Hours for the Nature Trails are sunrise to sunset; Hours for the Lake are Wednesday and Saturday 6 am until dusk and Thursday, Friday, and Sunday 12 pm until dusk
