ACE Community Walkability Workshop 2 – Montevallo

The ACE Community Walkability Workshop 2 is part 2 of an on-going workshop that will build upon the information and training received at the initial workshop held in July of 2018. The communities participating include: Brewton, Eufaula, Fayette, Foley, Haleyville, Heflin, Jasper, Montevallo and Tallasssee. The 2019 workshop will be held at The University of Montevallo – Anna Irvin Dining Hall/Montevallo Room from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm.
LODGING AVAILABILITY: Candlewood Suites in Alabaster, AL – 1004 Balmoral Drive – Alabaster, AL 35007 – A block of 20 rooms is available for the night of 1/3/19 in Alabaster (a 15 to 20 minute drive to Montevallo) – the room block will be released on 12/30/18. Call: 205—620-0188 for reservations – Room Block is listed as: ACE – Rate: $80 plus Tax – Rooms will be released on 12/30/18 – (Room types: 10 doubles with 2 full beds; 10 standard studio [queen])
Directions
For GPS purposes, type in University of Montevallo. Or enter 720 Vine Street (Montevallo Post Office) and follow the instructions below. Take Vine Street onto campus. You will enter campus via the arched gates entrance that says University of Montevallo. The Main Quad (grassy area with flag pole) will be on your right and the first parking lot will be on your left once on campus.
All parking and Anna Irvin Dining Hall are off of Vine Street. The closest parking lots are circled in green on the attached map, otherwise street parking is available along Vine Street and Highland Street. You will not be ticketed on 1/4/19.
Continuing down Vine Street you will come to a stop sign, caddy-corner to the left is Reynolds Hall (it’s all white in color). Feel free to use any street parking spaces that are available in this area.
Continuing straight from the STOP sign you will notice a large brick building to the right, this is Main Hall. At the end of this building there is a little drive to the right that will bring you to the entrance of Anna Irvin Dining Hall. Use this for handicap parking and drop offs/pick up.
If you stay on Vine Street (the same road you have been on since entering camps) you will be routed into another parking lot before exiting campus. Feel free to use any street parking that is available and between the parking lots on Vine Street.
