Executive Director’s Report: July 2020

Greetings to everyone and hope you are staying safe, wearing your mask and helping your community through these difficult times. On a high note, our ACE program continues to grow! The ACE Board of Directors approved Center Point and Boaz for designation as an Alabama Community of Excellence and Hartselle for recertification in the program. We will recognize these communities and leaders at the July 23 League of Municipalities Annual Conference in Montgomery. If you are able to attend the meeting, please welcome them to the ACE program.

The Community Seeds: Greening Your Community workshop planned for September 17 has been postponed to 2021 due to concerns with COVID-19.

We have extended our deadline for the ACE Star Award nominations to September 30. We will recognize the awardees at the November 13 Board and Associate Council meeting. The nomination form and information are included here.

Please check out the updated ACE website and help us improve the information and images on our community pages. We have received some great photos from towns like Foley, Jasper, and Evergreen.
