ACE Application Training Workshop

* January 11, 2019 | 9:30 am – 11:30 – OR – 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Location: Alabama Municipal Electric Authority
80 TechnaCenter Drive, Montgomery, AL 36117 – East Training Room

Park in the back parking lot. Take the walkway to the back door of the building and ring the doorbell marked “AMEA”.
Once inside the building, please take the elevator to the second floor – No parking code is required.

* An alternate date of January 18th is reserved for both sessions in the event of cancellation due to inclement weather.
Attendees will be notified via e-mail if the January 11th date changes

This is an opportunity to learn about the 2019 ACE Application Process and Selection Criteria

In early January 2019, ACE will launch the competitive application process to select its 2019 Class.

Any Alabama community with population of 2,000 to 18,000 is eligible to apply for consideration.

Mayors of AL communities meeting these population requirements will receive an informational letter inviting their community to apply. Full details of the application process and the application will be available in January on the ACE website. https://www.alabamacommunitiesofexcellence.org/apply/

The number of communities selected for the 2019 ACE Class will be based on available resources.

All completed applications should be submitted by Monday, March 11, 2019, on-line submission is preferred.

The application process is extremely competitive; to be considered, applications MUST be completed in its entirety with ALL attachments included in .PDF format ONLY.

We invite Mayors and key representatives to JOIN US on January 11th to talk with ACE representatives and learn all about the application process including an overview of the selection criteria used.

The application will consist of questions designed to determine a community’s commitment
and capacity to support ACE. Information will be requested about:

  • Community Planning  Quality of Life
  • Leadership Development  Education
  • Infrastructure  Health Care
  • Economic Development  Historic Preservation
