A multi-use facility, the civic center is an excellent display space for the Fayette Art Museum!
The building which has become the Fayette Civic Center began its life as the Fayette Grammar School. Renovated in 1980 the building still maintains the character of its past by utilizing classrooms as meeting rooms. The Fayette Civic Center is prepared to meet the needs of renters looking for a gathering place for family reunions, weddings, or whatever the occasion may be! The auditorium, which seats 365, is equipped with a screen/projector, a house sound system, and backstage dressing rooms
The Fayette Art Museum boasts an impressive permanent collection of over 4000 pieces. Inspired by the donation of a lifetime of artwork by Fayette native Lois Wilson; the Fayette Art Museum features galleries devoted to Ms. Lois along with renowned Folk Artists Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Mose Tolliver, Rev. Benjamin Perkins and R.A. Miller. The museum hosts shows and receptions for artists of many different art genres and is a cultural center for students of all ages. With a diverse collection of artwork, it is sure to interest all types of collectors and connoisseurs.
Hours/Days of Availability: The museum is open Monday-Friday from 9:00a.m. Until 4 p.m. Weekend visits and group tours can be arranged by appointment
